Abstract

One of the objectives of Islamic Sharia is to facilitate  and remove hardship and difficulty from those who are obligated. Among the prophetic texts that support this objective are the hadiths that include the phrase, “If it were  not  that I would make it difficult for  my Ummah…." Therefore, the purpose of this study is to collect the hadiths in which the Prophetﷺsaid,          “If it were  not  that I would make it difficult for  my Ummah…” This study combines two approaches: narration—which includes tracing the hadiths, explaining unfamiliar terms, studying chains of transmission, and assessing the hadiths—and analysing _ which involves examining the  jurisprudence  of the hadiths and the insights scholars have provided regarding them_The study adopts an inductive method, collecting relevant hadiths and analyzing them to explore their detailed jurisprudential issues. It also uses an analytical approach, integrating different sciences to explain the hadith`s text and chain. These hadiths encompass a range of prophetic teachings and jurisprudential benefits, including the rulings on delaying the Isha prayer and the ruling on using the miswak. Additionally, a critical approach is used to assess narrators in various instances. The study ended with a conclusion, including that the Prophetic Sunnah and virtues    are lifted from people if they are feared to cause them hardships, and that there is room for the legislator`s ijtihad  in matters with no explicit textual evidence. It also emphasizes the recommended use of the miswak before each prayer. A list of sources and references used in the research is provided at the end.
